Opening words from the President of the WOCF Prague 2025 Organizing Committee

How it all began…

The Olympic and Sports Philately Association OLYMPSPORT was founded in 1966, and was at the birth of, and is a founding member of international organizations – FIPO in 1994, and AICO in 2014.

In 2013, Olympsport representatives attended WOCF Paris 2023, where they were approached by AICO executive committee representatives with an offer to participate in the selection process for organizing fairs in 2025, 2026, and 2027. The seed was planted.

In August 2023, the AICO leadership announced the selection process for organizing world fairs in 2025-2027. In October 2023, the Olympsport committee decided to apply for the 2025 fair. This year was not chosen by chance – 2025 marks 100 years since the “VIII Olympic Congress” held in Prague in 1925 on the same dates.

On November 5, 2023, the AICO executive committee announced that Olympsport had been selected to host the 28th World Olympic Collectors Fair. This selection was subsequently confirmed by the Olympic Foundation for Culture and Heritage. The first official meeting of the WOCF Prague 2025 Organizing Committee took place in Prague on January 10, 2024, symbolically at the Olympik Hotel, where the Fair will be held from May 30 to June 1, 2025.
